Awarded Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery FROM university of Sydney in January 1981.

Mostly resided at St John’s College, earned acceptance into the surgical training programme of The Australian Orthopaedic Association in 1986.

Awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in January 1990.

Specialist in hip and knee replacement surgery, recognised by my peers as the pioneer of anterior minimally invasive hip replacement in Australia after further training in France in 2007. Heavily involved in the formation and running the training programme for this technically demanding procedure in Australia.

Dr Geoff Curry AM

St Gregory’s College Campbelltown 1980-1985.

Recognised internationally as an expert in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, pharmacology, and artificial intelligence (machine learning and deep learning neural networks) with $2,370,000 in grants, 180 peer reviewed journal papers, editor of 5 books, author of 5 book chapters, author of 2 textbooks, 175 professional conference presentations/papers, 75 invited speaker presentations, 11 research excellence awards.

Admitted as Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for contribution to nuclear medicine and medical radiation science.

Graham West

St Gregory’s College Campbelltown 1986-1991.

Appointed to the ministry from 2007 to 2010, at various times held the portfolios of Minister for Sport and Recreation, Minister for Gaming and racing, Minister Assisting the Premier on Veterans Affairs, Minister for Youth, Minister for Volunteering, Minister for Juvenile Justice.

Left Parliament in 2011 to return to the community sector, becoming the CEO of the St Vincent de Paul Society in NSW, national Vice-President of the Society and finally the National President of the St Vincent de Paul Society in Australia.

Br Luke Smythe fms

St Gregory’s College Campbelltown.

With the exception of 2 years, Brother Luke was at St Gregory’s College for 75 years.

Taught agriculture and science, was a farmer, ran the dairy for over 40 years, networked with local farmers, managed dairy and beef cattle herds, established a College Rodeo that ran for 40 years, coached student sports teams and supervised boarders’ dorms.

Luke was a special man with a very kind heart. He represents the very heart and soul of St Greg’s.

Tim Sheens

St Gregory’s College Campbelltown 1976-1978

Australian professional rugby league football coach (31 Test Teams) and former player. Played from 1970 to 1982.

Commenced coaching 1984 to current (2023).

Returned to the Wests Tigers in 2021 working in pathways, development, and talent identification.

On 3 May 2010, became the first coach in Australian rugby league history to reach 600 games.

Three times recipient Dally M Coach of the Year Award.

Russell Richardson

St Gregory’s College Campbelltown 1993-1994.

Former Australian professional Rugby League player from 1996 - 2004, for Cronulla, South Sydney and Newcastle. Representative in the Australia test Teams.

During NRL career established Hotel Group. Post career have continued Hotel Group and festival entertainment with St Greg’s alumni Greg Mathew in Newcastle with 6 hotels and collaboration of various music festivals in the region.

Natalie Harvey

Catholic College Sale 1987-1990.

Selected to represent Australia in athletics, racing in the Women’s 5,000m at the 1996 Olympics and the Womens 10,000m at the 2000 Olympics.

Paul Gockel

Marist College Ashgrove 1973-1983.

Represented Australia in swimming at the 1992 and 1996 Paralympics, winning a Silver Medal at Atlanta in the Men’s 4x100m Freestyle S7-10 event.
