Who can be a volunteer?

Any Marist! Anyone over 18 years old who has some connection with the Marist Global Family: ex-students, parents, teachers, professionals, tradespeople, and collaborators generally, young adults, members of the Association, Brothers …

Long-term volunteering opportunities - longer than six months

Are you a professional with skills to offer a variety of ministries focused on children and young people – teacher, counsellor, social worker, health professional, tradesman, musician ….?

Or are you a university student or high school graduate thinking about taking a gap year? We offer long-term opportunities within the Marist family joining with them in their mission.

Only have a short time to volunteer? – three to six months

Whether you're a principal, teacher, Brother, parent, university student, Marist ex-student taking a Gap Year, professional, administrator or tradesperson there are shorter-term placements available, where your knowledge and abilities would be most valuable to our Marist projects and communities in Australia.

Where might you go?

There is a focus on some of our missions on the peripheries – the edges: working with people who are marginalised and vulnerable.

In development are proposals for volunteering in these ministries:

Marist Solidarity Cambodia – LaValla School and Marist Village

Instituto Católico Para a Formação de Professores (ICFP) – Teachers’ College in Bacau.

Ltyentye Apurte Community – Santa Teresa, Central Australia (School and Youth Ministry)

Lavalla200> Community Mt Druitt – Marist Learning Zone and also the Aunties Support.

How can you get started?

You can enquire through the Marist Association of St Marcellin Champagnat, and you will be referred to a person who can advise you and discuss your expression of interest

Or you can contact Brother Chris Wills directly

The Bridge Builders Program will establish your Expression of Interest and refer to connections within the wider Marist Family on your behalf.
