2017 brings new challenges and opportunities for Catholic Schools in Australia. We may cite future funding, tepid student engagement, teacher upskilling and new modes of teacher registration, the impact of the Royal Commission...whatever!
Above and beyond all the so called issues we are still conducting Catholic schools and in our case in the tradition of Marist education. Our conference returns to the most critical issue for all Catholic Schools - evangelisation - including the what and how of our very reason for existence.
The Marist Schools Australia Biennial Conference is designed to draw us to our core business in an atmosphere of celebration, reflection and dialogue. Fr Kevin Lenehan will open the process with his input and reflections. We in turn are invited to partake in all aspects of the conference and assist one another to bring Christ's life to birth in our time.
In the spirit of all things Marist in this the 200th anniversary of the first school at La Valla in France, may I invite you to join us!
