Like Mary, let us open ourselves to the joy, peace and hope of Jesus’ birth in our lives, and see everything with new eyes. A blessed Christmas to all from everyone at MSA.
On 2 January 1817, Marcellin Champagnat welcomed the first two young men into a house that he had rented and refurbished in the town of La Valla. This date is celebrated by the Marist Brothers as their Foundation Day. Later that year, the Brothers began to teach the children of La Valla, so 2017 is the first year of the third century of Marist education.

Some MSA schools have initiated ways to publicise the Australian Catholic Bishops’ advocacy for bringing to Australia the asylum seekers and refugees who are still held in Nauru and on Manus Island PNG. The Marist Association of St Marcellin Champagnat aligns itself with all the Church is doing in this regard. In the words of Archbishop Denis Hart, President of ACBC, “enough is enough”. MSA member schools who become involved in this campaign do so knowing that they have the full support and encouragement of the Marists. Congratulations to John Kyle-Robinson who has been appointed as the next MSA Director for the Sydney Region commencing 2017. John is currently the Principal of Trinity Catholic College, Auburn/Regents Park.
